Belgium’s longest running techno club, Fuse, has re-launched its record label, Fuse Imprint, after a period of inactivity. The previous version of the label was home to the Fuse Presents mix series from the likes of Adam Beyer, Deetron, and Steve Bug, and the Fuse Club outlet, which released recordings from the likes of Bjork, as well as albums from B12 and Anthony Rother. Altinbas, who is well-known to the Fuse Club crowd, is in charge of the inaugural release for the new label.
Altinbas’ single ‘Hunt’ sets the pace for what promises to be four cuts of classic techno with a bit of drive, tension, and introspection. The ‘Reshape’ EP will be available digitally and on vinyl on September 29th. Altinbas, who hails from Brussels, began producing in 2015 and has released tracks on SK_Eleven, Non Series, Token, and his own imprint, Observer Station.
Fuse is a prominent figure in the dynamic club scene of Brussels, with almost 30 years under its belt. Earlier this year, the nightlife venue was asked to shut down after a series of noise complaints by Brussels Regional Administration (Brussels Leefmillieu). Eventually, the venue was allowed to reopen under more severe restrictions after discussions with the government and the Brussels by Night federation. To secure its future, Fuse has also explored external options, and recent activities suggest that the venue, which has welcomed the likes of Robert Hood, Juan Atkins, and Daft Punk over the years, is far from over.
To celebrate its 29th anniversary, Fuse recently tested Quadrilatères’ eligibility as a candidate for its new home. Quadrilatères is a 20-year-old vacant area under Brussels’ south railway line. The resurgence of its record label and exploring other locations suggest that the renowned venue is looking forward to more action.
